The Enigin Move

I have been working for Enigin now for nearly three years and see how it has progressed from a small company up to a 30 person strong team.  I turned up on my first day at work to a completely empty office which was one of my first tasks at Enigin.

I have kitted out three Enigin offices now and every time we move, it is a bigger mission as we have more employees and therefore more stuff.  In the early days, it was relatively straight forward - everyone was given a box for their possessions, this was labelled and handed out at the other side.  But as we’ve expanded, there has been more equipment to install and more employees to seat and usually a very tight timeframe to get everything up and running.  Trying to achieve this whilst causing as little disruption as possible to the other employees is quite a challenge.

It doesn’t matter that there’s a big move taking place; appointments and telephone conferences must still be kept, computers only shut down for a short period of time and the all important tea and coffee constantly flowing.

Although I find it quite stressful moving offices (it’s pretty much the same as moving house), it is also exciting to see how far Enigin has progressed where we’re at the stage we need to move to larger premises.  And once everyone is settled and everything is working smoothly again, if I’m able to take a step back and look at what’s been achieved, it’s a very good feeling.
